This conversation explores the journey of self-discovery through meditation, intuition, and choosing a path that feels truly aligned with who you are. We talk about trusting yourself, recognizing the signs that life puts in front of us, and finding that courage to follow where those breadcrumbs lead. So whether you're just beginning your journey or have been on it for years, I think you'll find something in this conversation that resonates. Here's my conversation with Ali. Today I am joined by Ali Christos, a quantum healing hypnosis technique practitioner, a spiritual guide, and an educator. After spending 15 years in the real estate industry, Ali followed a very different path, one centered on helping people explore their subconscious, gain personal insight, and reconnect themselves through the practice of quantum healing hypnosis. Inspired by the teachings of Dolores Cannon, Ali now guides clients through experiences designed to encourage self-discovery, healing, and a deeper understanding of their own inner wisdom. Hello, thank you for joining me today.
SPEAKER_00Hello, Erica. Hello, everyone listening. Thank you so much for having me.
SPEAKER_01I love these spiritual conversations. I have quite a few of them because they just fuel my soul. I love learning about purpose and the little breadcrumbs that guide us along the way. So when I saw your information, I was really excited to have you on the show to talk about your journey and how you're able to help people. So before we talk about what you're doing now with the quantum healing hypnosis, let's find out about you. And again, I'm curious about the real estate side of things because of my experience. So tell me a little bit about your past and your journey.
SPEAKER_00So I spent about more than 15 years in real estate and that too in New York City. I was involved in business as well. I did some development and uh helped with startups. I was part of some tech startups, and I did a lot of coaching uh while I was in the US. Uh now I'm currently in Canada. And like many people, I believed that achievement would eventually create fulfillment. But from the outside, things looked successful. I had the house, I had the cars, I had all of those uh outside trappings that many of us uh chase. But internally I was carrying stress, uh, perfectionism, and constantly chasing the next milestone. Uh, a difficult divorce, several near-death experiences, years of meditation, and uh a lot of yoga completely changed the questions I started asking myself. I became fascinated with why intelligent, successful people still struggle with anxiety, with burnout, with people pleasing, and with repeating the same emotional patterns. So that journey eventually led me into quantum hypnosis and subconscious healing. But really, it's about helping people understand themselves on a deeper level.
SPEAKER_01I'd love to dive in a little bit more on your past. You said you had some near-death experiences. Did that create like an awakening experience for you, or what did that entail?
SPEAKER_00Well, I think a lot of people have misunderstandings about um near-death experiences and also awakening. Um, it's usually not something that's pleasant. Um, for me, uh one of the most memorable ones, and they're all really incredible, but the one of the most memorable, impactful ones was uh during Christmas Eve of 2011. I at that time I was living in New York and we were driving to New Jersey. And if you are familiar, or your listeners are familiar with New Jersey, those turnpikes sometimes you you know you're going quite fast, almost like a highway, and you come to a red light. And it happened to be raining, it was evening time. And uh it was my mother-in-law at the time that was driving. My uh wife at the time was in the passenger seat. I was in the back with my twins at the time that were under the age of one in car seats. And uh so I was looking into the eyes of my daughter and basically asking, Where's God? And in that moment of what I self-judgingly call a moment of ungratefulness and unawareness, uh, we were struck by another SUV because what happened was it my mother-in-law didn't see the light in time. And when she saw it, she breaked really hard. And there was another SUV behind us that didn't have a chance to break in time, and it smashed right into us. Thankfully, that everyone was buckled, but I wasn't. And what ended up happening is when the paramedics arrived and the police arrived, this they were checking me out because they're like, look, we're not worried about the children. They would be fine even if they were in a Formula One racing car because of the car seats, but you weren't wearing a seatbelt, you know, you're gonna be in a lot of pain tomorrow. And you know, I didn't know what they were talking about until I experienced that. I went to the hospital the same day. I felt okay, I was still worried about everyone else. But the next day I was in such excruciating pain. And I went back to the hospital, and there was no medication they could give me just for me to feel better again. And for eight months I was bedridden. And during that eight-month journey of sulking in my life going to hell, as that's how it felt at the time. I had this night, you know, some call it the dark night of the soul, where I was angry at God and just swearing and upset and you know, complaining that you know, my entire life I've been athletic, uh, I've been in good shape, I've you know, I've been able to provide for my family, and now all of a sudden I'm bedridden, I can't even lift my own children up, and I wanted to die. And the next morning I get a call, and that call came from Ireland as total surprise. It felt like it was out of the blue. And it was a lady by the name of Lorna Byrne. Have you ever heard of Lorna Byrne?
SPEAKER_01I have not.
SPEAKER_00She's the author of Angels in My Hair. She's a grandma now. She has been seeing and talking to angels ever since she was a child. And I met her in New York because of a real estate friend of mine, John, who encouraged me to go see her one day at a Unitarian church. She was visiting from Ireland and she had all these uh people that were following her and reading her books. And the interesting thing is she's super dyslexic, so she cannot read or write. Yet she was told by the angels when she was young that one day there's gonna be a book written about you and it's gonna help a lot of people. And she would laugh. She'd say, My own mother thinks I'm retarded, wants to put me in institution. I don't know how that's gonna happen. And they would say, Hey, it's God's will and it will come to pass. And sure enough, one day someone came to her and asked her life story, and she dictated it. They recorded it, it got published, became a best-selling book, translated into multiple languages. And uh when I ended up meeting her, I became an instant fan of hers because I could sense that she what she was saying was very authentic and she was speaking the truth. And it was so fascinating to me, the world of the unseen, you know, uh, for someone to be able to see angels and to be able to talk to them and you know, to be able to give us the insights on what happens when we die. So all those things I started to consume her books left, right, and center, but I didn't know that she had my number. I didn't know that she would call me. So she calls me this one fateful morning, and she's like, uh, with her Irish accent, and I'm like, is this Lorda? And she's like, Yes. I said, how can I help you? She says, I heard. I said, I heard what? She says, I heard what you're going through, and I've been told you're gonna make it through it. And I was like, What? Who told you? You know, I'm looking around the room if there's cameras in my bedroom. Like, did my wife call her? Like, uh, like we don't even have a number, you know. So it was really uh surprising for me to say the least. And now I would say, looking back, it were those, it was those words that gave me a new life. And I changed my perspective on everything. I wanted to become a yoga teacher, and my doctors had said, you know, you have three herniated discs in your neck, three in your lower back. It's gonna be suicide for you if you do this training. And I did it anyways. And as part of the training, I went to India, which was so fascinating. And then, you know, this led me to a whole different world. You know, one of the things I realized from the accident is that the things that I was chasing weren't nearly as important as what was right in front of me. My children, my wife, my in-laws, my parents, my friends, my family, the relationships. And it may sound cliche now that I'm talking about it, but I was so lost. Not to say that I oh, you know, I've discovered and I'm enlightened and I know everything now. It's just that, you know, sometimes in life you have to go through your own mistakes, and some of them are really bad. You know, if you've ever seen The Wolf of Wall Street, I made the mistake of watching that movie in a time where my ego was running me, and I repeated a lot of the same shit that he did. And I'm not proud of it. Uh, but it led to a really, really uh challenging time for me, uh, including the divorce that I had to go through. And I had to redefine who I wanted to be. I deleted my Instagram account, all of my real estate and LinkedIn pages. And before that, I had been in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, on several TV shows like Million Dollar Listing, and all of that was so ego-driven. And I was friends with all the top real estate agents in the US. Uh, and I was also coaching many people and brokers, and I had to leave all that behind. And, you know, at the time it was like scary because I was like, okay, what am I gonna do? And it took some time. You know, I did a couple of other businesses, I did high-ticket coaching and I went beyond real estate, started to help people outside of real estate in the business realm, and I started helping people with life coaching, and then I discovered that I can channel. And this is something that started to come up after some of my near-death experiences. I started to open up to some of my spiritual gifts. And now, you know, fast forward years later, I'm channeling during my quantum hypnosis sessions. I am uh channeling a lot of the work that I get inspired to do, uh, including uh having published over 18 books, over 300 uh spiritual uh songs, most of them hip-hop, because I love hip-hop. Yeah, so this is uh everything in a nutshell.
SPEAKER_01I don't want to hijack the show, but uh well, it's just I love these spiritual conversations again, because you know, most of us are on a road that we travel and something happens and we're at a fork in the road, and we can choose which way to go. And sometimes it takes being at a low or again a really tragic situation where we have to kind of stop and listen to our faith, to those angels, to you know, whatever gives us that that guidance and make a decision. And it's hard to let go of the person that we've established and the success we've had or not, and try to move into something different that we're pulled to. And I'm finding as my journey continues that really going to where is where you're being pulled to, you know, you can hear that voice and those signs, but we tend to dismiss them as, oh, that's not you know, real guidance or I should it's just my imagination. But I'm learning myself to really fall into those gifts and to listen. And I think it's really cool to hear your story because the same thing, you had to kind of shed your past version of yourself to really almost hit a low to start building this next version, how many people you're able to impact now on this journey. Yeah, that's really fascinating to me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it is to me too, and I'm I'm still amazed by how many doors are opening up for me. You know, one of the things that Dolores, who's my teacher, as you mentioned earlier, Dolores Cannon, uh, she continues to guide me now. She comes up in some of my sessions, she comes up in my dreams. I always feel her by my side, uh, and I love her so much because she created this gift of quantum hypnosis healing technique. That uh, like literally just before this, I was listening to a video, QA video with other practitioners because I help other practitioners as well with their businesses, and I was in tears, uh, tears of gratitude for having this work, this sacred work. And I'm not alone. I feel like it doesn't need to be QHHT, it could be anything that is service to humanity. When you do what we call in India seva, you know, service to humanity, and a magical thing starts to happen. Doors start to open up, opportunities present themselves, this podcast happens, you know. So it's a really, really beautiful thing when you submit and when you let go of the control, of the ego, of the needing to know what's going to happen in you know, a hundred days or in two years, and you just trust that, okay, you know, my intentions, as long as they're clean, as long as they're pure, you know, and we're not talking religious, but spiritually, like, you know, I believe that we're all one, we're all connected. I believe that if I help you, I'm helping myself. If I hurt you, I'm hurting myself. And I act from that premise, then amazing things will start to unfold. And I've witnessed it so many times every day in my life, I continue to witness it. And so my invitation to you, Erica, and to the listeners is that uh submit yourself. And it's ironic that I say that because I was raised in a Muslim household, and uh many times my family and even my ex-wife, they don't consider me to be Muslim because I'm very out there. You know, my name is Ali Christos, I'm you know, helping people of, you know, it doesn't matter what they believe in, because at the end of the day, what I've seen and experienced through my own metaphysical experiences as well as QHHT and my clients having these experiences, that we really don't know shit. Excuse my friend. We don't know anything. And I continue to say that I don't know anything. I'm learning and I'm asking to be used as a vessel. And as long as that's happening, I'm experiencing great joy and great circumstances I wasn't experiencing before. Before life felt like a struggle. It felt like it was me against the world. It was, you know, I'm picturing myself in a New York real estate office, questioning my whole life and wondering when I'm going to make my next commission sale or my first commission sale. And, you know, having all these insecurities about, oh, you know, why is my skin brown? Why am I so young? I'm too young. How will someone trust me to sell their million-dollar property in Manhattan? You know, I'm not educated enough. I'm not enough. I'm not this, I'm not that. So all those things go out the window when you realize, hey, you don't need to know it all. And just submit. And and yeah, you know, you might say, easy for you to say, you know, like you've been through this process and now you have this spiritual business. But I have to say that it didn't just happen. I've been meditating for many years, and I've done a lot of self-work. I continue to do it every day. And one of the magical things that happen, Erica, um, you'll love this because you have a podcast. I have a few podcasts that are out. The one podcast that really took off for me, and wait till you hear the numbers, it all came to me during meditation. And it was a deep meditation that I did as part of vipassana. Have you ever heard of vipassana?
SPEAKER_01I have not.
SPEAKER_00All right, so this is something that my mentors had told me about decades ago. What's interesting is that whenever my mentors have told me anything about anything spiritual, when I was in my 20s, I would just like poo-poo it because I was like, what does this have to do with business? Uh, they told me about Conversations with God by Neil Donald Walsh. I put that book off for 10 years. They told me about Wipasana meditation, I put that out for off for 20 years. And I finally did it last year in May. It's essentially a 10-year, I call it a meditation prison because they take your phone away. You're not allowed to speak to anybody, you're not allowed to make eye contact or touch anybody, and you meditate for you know five hours plus every day. And what ends up happening is the mind starts to go nuts, at least mine did. And um, ironically, the person that I gave or I ride shared and I was giving someone a ride, and he's the guy because of whom I end up going, because I was going to cancel. Because I know that it would be difficult, but I didn't know how difficult. But this gentleman ended up being the former CEO of Hershey Chocolate, and he's lived all over the world, and he gave up his executive lifestyle to become a plant medicine practitioner, and he was learning from this great teacher out in Lebanon, and so he's flying there every you know few months to learn from him and level up his skills, and that's what he's doing now, full-time, among you know some other side businesses he has. But he's a I have a podcast with him, which is really cool. But this I want to share with you because when I was in my one-day retreat about a few weeks ago, I got this incredible feeling that I need to help my parents. And my parents, my dad is Indian, my mom is Pakistani, I was born in Canada, and uh which essentially means I I sometimes feel like I don't belong one place or the other, you know, like I have a little bit of everything. And somehow it gives me the right to make fun of my dad's Indian accent because hey, if my dad's Indian, I can make fun of it. No one's gonna say I'm a racist, you know. So I get to do that and have fun with that. But aside from that, jokes aside, uh, the inspiration I got, Erica, during my meditation was that I need to start a podcast that will help my parents. And in order to do that, it needs to be in their language. So simple Hindi, simple Urdu, which is the Urdu is the language in Pakistan. And so that's what I did. I was so excited. The next day when I came back, I just spent the entire day working on that podcast. Fast forward three weeks later, I have I have over 10,000 subscribers on YouTube on that podcast. It's insane how hungry the world has been for that information. And you know, if I give some of the magic sauce on this, uh some of the listeners will appreciate this. I'm sure you'll appreciate this. What I did was for years I've been studying um the books of Neil Donald Walsh, uh Conversations with God. Have you heard of them?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So just so to demonstrate to you how um how much I love these books, and this is not a paid promotion in any way, but look at the notes I take. These notes are from over 10 years ago. And I've been wanting to translate this into a language that would speak to Indians, Pakistanis, you know, basically Southeast Asians about spirituality in a way that's not religious, but deeply wise. And this is my favorite one from Neil. It's friendship with God. And so without going into it, in during my meditation, I uh made a request to the unseen realm, you know, call it God, call it your higher self, call it the angels, call it whatever you want. I said, I want to be able to help my parents and their generation. And what came to me is okay, start a podcast, and I call it Zindigi Seguftugu, which translates into conversations with life. And if you read Neil's book, you know that God and life are synonymous. So I got to be spiritual without being religious, and I built an entire podcast. I have about 30 of episodes out, and I love listening to them, and yet I'm God smacked at how I did it, because I don't speak as succinctly in Urdu or Hindi, but yet when I whenever I work on it, it's the podcast that keeps calling me back in because I feel like it's the legacy that I'm I am to leave behind and that's going to continue to help people. And that excites me so much. So coming back full circle, that when you serve humanity, doors open up and you will see it. Just try it in your life if you have it. Make the intention to submit and to serve humanity in whatever way that comes up naturally for you that excites you and see what happens.
SPEAKER_01That's really cool. I had an experience recently as well. It was a couple weeks ago. We recorded an episode with a spiritual advisor, and she's a Reggae provider and just a medium as well, just a really beautiful soul. And after I recorded it, I think it was even that day, I was scrolling Instagram and I had a one of those reels come up that said, you know, you want to manifest, then you know, if you have a question that you have for life, then envision it and ask the question, and within 24 hours you'll have your answer. And I'm like, okay, you know, I'll buy I so I did, and then one of my questions that I've had for a while now is whether I should be speaking in front of people. I did one sp speaking event last summer, but never really took off too much and um haven't put a lot of energy towards it. And so my question was, you know, if if I meant to take that path and move forward with speaking to people to try to impact them, then give me a sign that that that's what I'm supposed to be doing. So I don't know if it was 24 hours, but it was no more than 48 hours later. I get a message from someone I know saying that their keynote speaker for the following Friday had backed out and they needed a keynote for a week away and if I'd be available. I'm like, well, that's weird, you know? And of course I had to do it and prepare a keynote in a week, but it was it was one of those moments like it was so so legitimate, so you can't put it up to coincidence because I asked for it and it was such an obvious coincidence of events that I had to believe that it happened for a reason and it was guiding me, as I call it, a breadcrumb along the way. And so my keynote was all about, you know, believing in the possibility, trusting those breadcrumbs and you know, and trusting that path that will guide you to help impact others. And I think all those are important. It's not just the feeling it's possible, it's not just you know having the capacity to do it, it's also creating that impact when you trust those breadcrumbs. Like that has to be part of the equation, in my opinion, to have that fulfillment and that life purpose that you're including that. I think that you're clearly doing that yourself.
SPEAKER_00You know, it's interesting because you talk about impact, and this is something I learned from one of the CEOs when I was. So you since you're in real estate, and maybe some of your listeners are familiar with the real estate industry. Have you heard of a company called Compass?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00So I was one of the early investors in Compass, and I came on as one of their agents in New York City. And um, the reason I came on was because the CEO kept calling, and then I said, okay, if let's do a luncheon and we'll see how this goes. And I remember uh, like it was yesterday, I was in Tribeca and I parked my car in front of the cafe where we were supposed to meet, and he walked by with his daughter in his arms, and his daughter was like really tall. She must have been like four years old or five years old when he's carrying her, and I just melted. I'm just like, wow, here's this CEO that's like a father and he's cool, you know. And I always heard good things about him. But then when I finally met with him, I fell in love with this man because I was just like, wow, you know what he's building and how he's uh changing the real estate field through technology, but still keeping it very human and agent focused. I joined his team and uh it was a great, great experience. So he was the one who taught me about impact because I said, you know, like why are you doing all this? And I thought he was gonna say, Oh, I'm gonna be rich, I'm gonna do this. He's like, No, I want to make the maximum impact. And he's just like, oh, okay, that matters. Why does it matter? And now um I would say that if you make the intention of impact and you do, you know, something that's gonna help others, and in truth, there are no others, there's just another version of yourself. But when you make that intention and you start to take steps towards it, the impact will be a natural byproduct. And what's really amazing is that eventually so does money, because money is a lagging indicator, right? You take those steps, you have that intention, you show up for others, whatever you know you're doing in your way with podcasts and real estate, and everyone can do it in their own way. But when you do it and you have that intention, amazing things start to happen, just like you shared. And so the impact I feel in some ways is not in our hands. For me, for example, in my own experience, I've had so many YouTube channels and a handful of podcasts. But from all the podcasts, the one that I would expect the least to have so much widespread impact is the one that's blowing up. And uh so I'm learning to submit every day. And now in this conversation, I declare that I submit to that because you know what? That's that's what the audience wants. You know, it's it's not just all about the algorithm, but it's about what is it that is wanted out there? What are people starving for? And you know, Neil has said in his book several years ago that people are their souls are starving. This is the number one problem that we're dealing with. You know, loneliness being an epidemic is just a symptom of that. You know, the disconnectedness uh and the children being lost in terms of values and uh even in their own image and self-image, this is all symptoms of disconnection, you know. And when we start to meditate, when we start to become more conscientious and mindful and start to realize that we're all interconnected, everything is related, and that every relationship is holy ground, then we start to realize that, you know what, this is can be a very beautiful experience. Life is not easy, right? I I don't want to lie to myself or to others. It's not easy. You know, I suffer sometimes from anxiety, I suffer from sometimes thinking I'm not doing enough, you know. So I all the things that I help my clients with, I suffer from too. I'm I'm not relieved from that. But because of my near-death experiences and my spiritual experiences and the experiences of my clients through QHHT, I know that there's this beautiful realm of the unseen that is there cheering us on, that is there helping us, that is there guiding us, that is there talking to us. And all we have to do is make the intention to hear them and to tune in just like a radio station and submit to whatever purpose that we've set out for ourselves prior to coming into this lifetime.
SPEAKER_01It's so fascinating to me because you know it's funny with these podcasts, we cover a lot. I mean, we cover the fitness and the nutrition and then the mindset and the spirituality, but there's certain themes that tend to continue to wind through and pull together and keep coming back. Meditation is one that we've had several episodes that either incorporate it a bit or you know, just in are all about it, or people's lives who have been affected by it. And for me personally, I had a conversation with one of my coaches the other day about it. Meditation for me is really challenging. Like I have a hard time even starting the process because I'm all over the place, you know. So I know that's something that I have to work on. So I like your input on meditation, and I really want to make sure that we touch on the quantum healing hypnosis and how that's different than hypnosis, too. So let's start with meditation and like your insights on that.
SPEAKER_00Wonderful. So one of the biggest misconceptions is that meditation is about stopping your thoughts when it's not. If your goal is to have no thoughts, you'll probably feel like you're failing. Meditation isn't about having an empty mind, it's about developing a different relationship with your mind. So instead of getting pulled into every thought, you learn to just observe it. And it comes with practice. You can't just try it once and just be like, oh, it's too difficult. Because guess what? Anything you start and try once is going to be challenging, right? And especially anything worthwhile. And meditation is definitely worthwhile. I'm not religious, but sometimes I like to quote the holy books, and in the Bible it says, be still and know that I'm God. Uh, the kingdom of heaven is within you. So all these things point to within us. Prophet Muhammad used to go into a cave. And, you know, as Muslims, we are told to go pray in congregation if we're men in a mosque, but he could have gone to a mosque or prayed at home. But why would he go to a cave in isolation? And that's where the Quran supposedly came to him. And then you look at Moses going away into the mountains 40 days, Jesus going away for 40 days. You know, all these parallels in history of all these great masters isolating themselves, and doesn't mean that you have to go away to the Himalayas and abandon your family and your life. No, but you do need to take some time to be still, to be quiet, to listen to that inner voice that's guiding you. So the biggest challenge people often tell me, Erica, is that I can't meditate because my mind won't stop. So my response is that's exactly why you should meditate. It's just what my coaches used to say. They'd say, Oh, if you can't meditate for five minutes, then you need to meditate for 10 minutes. You know, so meditation doesn't reveal that your mind is busy. It reveals how busy it's always been. You simply never noticed before. And that's the beauty of meditation is that you start to notice things that have been running, patterns that have been running your life. We live in constant stimulation, especially today more than ever. Most of us wake up and immediately consume information: phone, email, news, social media, podcasts, music. We rarely experience silence. So meditation is one of the few places where we stop consuming and actually start observing. So what actually happens is that first meditation can feel very uncomfortable. People suddenly become aware of racing thoughts and their to-do list and anxiety, sadness, restlessness, impatience. Many people think meditation is making me anxious. Usually it's not what's making you anxious, it's making you aware of anxiety that was always there. Um, so for beginners, uh you know, they they may think they're failing, but the first meditation isn't peaceful. Sometimes the first hundred are not peaceful, and that's normal. Okay. You're training attention, and just like working a muscle in a gym, it takes time. Just like building muscle, uh, consistency matters more than perfection. And in my own experience, when I first started meditating, I wasn't looking for mystical experiences, I was looking for peace. You know, in New York, everything is hustle and bustle and busy, and I just needed peace. And having three kids and two of them being twins, it was a lot. Uh, and I don't regret it. I love them to bits, but instead, I uh I found something more valuable than you know, what like a mystical experience that people may be searching for. I began noticing the patterns that were running my life, the constant thinking, the need to achieve the pressure, the fear. So meditation gave me enough space to observe them instead of automatically living them. And you may wonder, bringing us to the subconscious and quantum hypnosis, meditation doesn't erase the subconscious, it makes it more visible. So you begin noticing reoccurring thoughts, uh, emotional reactions, fears, habits, identity. That's the beginning of self-awareness. And you know, why do most people quit? People quit because they expect meditation to immediately make them feel calm. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it first makes you aware of how unsettled, how restless you've been. Uh, and that awareness is actually progress, and and that's important to realize. So, some practical advice that I can give to the listeners is if someone is new to this, start with just five minutes. Don't chase enlightenment, you know, don't chase a mystical experience. Simply become curious. Notice, notice your breath, notice your thoughts, notice your body, notice your emotions. Curiosity is more important than perfection because in curiosity, you're not claiming to know it all, you're you're being there as the witness. And so the biggest benefit that you'll get, the greatest gift of meditation that it's given me isn't relaxation, it's choice. Before meditation, something happened. I reacted, and now something happens, I just notice it. I become a witness, and then I choose. And that small space between stimulus and response has probably changed my life more than anything else. And I would leave you with this: that meditation isn't about quieting the mind, it's about no longer being controlled by it.
SPEAKER_01I have been doing the time meditation with just five minutes again, just to try to create the habit. And it's amazing how fast those five minutes really go by. I set my alarm on my clock, and it really feels like it's about 30 seconds because I can really, you know, again, keep bringing my thoughts back, not emptying it, but really, like you said, noticing them. So I think that's very constructive advice is to set that time. Is there anything about like environment that you recommend for people who are starting? Because that can be a hard thing to because you're afraid someone might walk in, or if a place that gives you the space to be vulnerable with yourself. Like any recommendations on that?
SPEAKER_00100%. So I say that create your environment so that it's set up for success, and that goes for business, and that goes for your life, that goes for meditation. How do you create your environment so you're set up for success when it comes to meditation? Well, one, go in, you can do it at a time where it's going to be the most quiet in your household, whatever that may be for you. For most people, that's the first thing in the morning or the last thing at night or both. And for me, it's the first thing in the morning. I get up before anybody else does. It's usually 5:30 in the morning, and it's like I have an internal alarm clock. It wakes me up, and more than anything else, I want to go meditate. Uh, I love my wife, I have a beautiful wife, but sometimes more than wanting to make love to her, I actually want to meditate first because who I show up as and who I'm being during a day is more important to me than just going after what my carnal desires may be in the moment. And this may be TMI, but I feel like people need the truth. People want to hear the raw, the, you know, and sometimes it's it's not what uh as glamorous as what we may see on social media. But yeah, I will meditate for half an hour and uh look to set up your environment so that you won't be disturbed, that you'll have uh quiet around you. You'll get to a point eventually that even if there's noise, it will still not take you out of your meditation. You may actually go deeper because you've made up your mind that it doesn't matter, no one can steal your peace while while you're in that state. And so that takes practice like anything else. But in the beginning, yes, do it at a time that's easiest. Usually it's the first thing in the morning. Don't look at your phone, don't check the news, don't do any of that, don't turn on any electronics, go first thing, go and sit in quiet, somewhere peaceful. And ideally, a little bit dim light or dark would be good because then you don't have that stimulation of light or sound. And I like to wear a hoodie. Sometimes I put a nice you know Mexican blanket around myself so I'm comfortable. I sit on my couch, cross-legged, and whatever's comfortable for you, that you will not drowse off to sleep, but you'll still be comfortable. And set your intention that you're gonna do it for at least 10 minutes, because five minutes is really short, it can go by quick. But for someone like me, I'm trained to sit for hours. I can sit easily for an hour, but prior to that, it was I could still do 15 minutes, half an hour, no problem, because you work up to it. So your goal should be at least 10 minutes, ideally 15 minutes minimum every day. And it's not like any other practice because this practice it pays itself off as you're doing it. One, you're gonna experience peace, maybe not every time, but you will start to experience profound peace. You'll start to get insights, you'll start to realize things, you'll start to, you may even start having conversations with your higher self. Uh so you know, I wouldn't expect it because when you go in with that expectation, it doesn't happen. You get disappointed and you're like, oh, this shit doesn't work. So don't go in with that expectation, but do practice it. Practice it, uh, you know, dare I say religiously. Make it something that's part of your life. Because if there's one thing that you can do that can really help transform your life, it's that because the real teacher, the real guru, uh, the real dispeller of darkness is within you. And, you know, all of the great wisdom traditions have said that. Even in the Quran, when I was raised Muslim, they were saying that Allah or God says that I'm closer to you than your jugular vein. You know, and uh it's up to the interpreter what they take that as. But for me, it means that God is within all of us, it's God is part of us, not apart from us, as it Neil says in his books. So realizing that, that you are God manifested in this earth realm, and for you to reconnect with that which you actually are, there's nothing more powerful than that. And Abraham Hicks says this, one of my mentors says that one person that is connected to source is more powerful than millions that are not.
SPEAKER_01That's very powerful. Interesting to hear how many high performers or people who have built a successful company and you know, uber successful end up taking these spiritual journeys where they spend time in the quiet and how that just takes them to this different level of awareness is really cool to watch that happen.
SPEAKER_00It's the secret that's out, or it's it's a secret that never was meant to be a secret. Because my mentors that actually told me to do this, they're both Harvard grads, and they've been my mentors since I was young. And I don't come from a very rich family, I come from a middle-class blue-collar family. And these mentors, they would tell me, Yeah, you should look into vipassana. A lot of our colleagues have done vipassana, it's really helped their businesses, it's helped their lives. And just like, who has time to take out 10 days from their life and disconnect from social media and the phone and all that and their business and their little, you know. So for so many years I put that off. But man, if I could give any advice to anybody, is that if you get a chance, just do it. One, it's free. Two, it's one of the most beautiful experiences you'll have after all that struggle. Um, because you'll realize that there's so much more to us, like our mind has been controlling us. But when you start to really conquer your own mind, you can conquer your life in ways you never thought possible.
SPEAKER_01So cool. Okay, we're running out of time. So let's dive in quick to the quantum healing hypnosis technique. What is it?
SPEAKER_00Quantum hypnosis helps people explore deeper subconscious beliefs and emotional patterns that may be influencing their lives. So whether someone views it psychologically or spiritually, the value is greater self-awareness. So the way that I like to say, because for those that have not been hypnotized, hypnosis is like a deep meditation. You're in a theta state. Interestingly enough, most humans up until the age of about seven are naturally in a theta state. They move in and out of theta naturally during wakefulness. As adults, we come out of that. And when we go into theta, theta is the state just before you fall asleep. So it's deep relaxation. You're fully aware of what's going on, you're in control, you can stop the session if you need to, and you are safe. That's very important to know. It's not like stage hypnosis where they make you quack like a duck or you know, jump around on stage. Very different. This is for the purposes of healing. And because it's for that purpose, it's super powerful. And that's why they call it quantum, because the type of healings that take place are beyond words. Some of the healings that Dolores and other students have noticed is they've seen bone marrows repairing in front of their eyes. They've seen cancer going away. There's so many things that we see, and every session is so unique, so different. The client that comes in gets what they're ready for and what they're meant to experience. And that's the beauty of it is I don't need to know it all. I don't need to be a PhD or anything like that. I know this process. It's a process that Dolores Ken and developed over the course of 40 years and God knows how many lifetimes. And thousands and thousands of clients. She started out as a traditional hypnotherapist where she was helping people lose weight and quit smoking and get over phobias. And then she found that people would almost instantly go into past lives or parallel lives or future lives. And at first she was shocked because it was not part of her belief system. And then she would find people would bring in the higher self, what she dubbed as a subconscious. And just to be clear, it's different from the subconscious that we know in psychology. It's the higher self or the over soul or the part of you that is in a non-physical realm that's connected to all that is. That's how I would define it. And so that's what we're connecting to. So in quantum hypnosis, we have two parts. The first part we call the pre-interview. This is before the hypnosis session. During that time, it's usually around two hours. Sometimes it can run up to four hours. And Dolores says it takes as long as it takes because each individual is different. We go over your life from the time you were born till now, all the things that matter to you, your childhood, your school years, your relationships, any symptoms you may be experiencing. And clients come with their questions. And after that pre interview, we go into the hypnosis session, which is generally about two hours. We don't like to go too much more than that because the body can get tired because you are journeying, even though you're Lying still in the bed, your consciousness is journal journeying. And during the hypnosis session, many people do go into past lives, but some people go into present lives. Some people go into parts of their mind that they need to access in order to experience certain healings and understandings. And then we bring in the higher self or what Dolores calls the subconscious. And that we are able to ask it questions, why you may be experiencing X, Y, or Z. Why are you repeating these patterns? Or what is the root cause of this? Or why did the subconscious show you that particular lifetime or that uh experience? And we start to get deep wisdom and we start to get answers to all the questions that you come with as a client. And many times just hearing those things and getting those answers results in healing. And then we also do um body scans to make sure that if there's any energy blocks or any blockages in the body that can be cleared up. So that's essentially what quantum hypnosis is in a nutshell.
SPEAKER_01I have been drawn lately, uh the last couple months, really, into learning about the power behind meditation and hypnosis, behind healing illness and healing the body. And it fascinates me because I think we are only just beginning to learn about that that possibility. And, you know, sometimes I wanna I want to share it with people that are dealing with health concerns, but a lot of people are still very uncomfortable with it, you know, which which I understand. But, you know, I I wish I I feel that it's very powerful in our ability to move forward in our health journey, both mentally, spiritually, and physically, all together in one. So I think it's a beautiful thing if we can start to work towards healing all of it and how important that is if we're not well physically, that we heal all of it together. Are you seeing a lot of that in the work that you're doing?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that one thing that I love about quantum hypnosis is that it's very holistic and it meets the person where they're at. So hypnosis doesn't heal the body by magic, it creates conditions in which the body may function and recover more efficiently. So our bodies are constantly repairing uh cuts, they heal, bones mend, infections resolve, tissues regenerate. The question is, what environment are we creating for that healing to occur? So, you know, it's about the mind-body connection. We've known for decades that chronic stress affects the body. When we're constantly in a fight or flight state, we may experience elevated stress hormones, poor sleep, muscle tension, digestive problems, slower recovery, uh, weakened immune system. Uh but hypnosis and deep relaxation can actually help shift people towards a calmer psychological state. So for some people, that may reduce the stress and support healthier habits, better sleep, and improving coping. But with quantum hypnosis, we go even deeper because we are looking to reach that sennibilistic state, which is deep hypnosis. And thereby we can access your higher self and get all the answers that will be coming through your own mouth. And that's the beauty of uh of this type of uh therapy is that unlike, for example, um a psychic reading, and in a psychic reading, someone is telling you what you know what your future may be like or what's going on in your life that you may not realize. But in a quantum hypnosis session, all that wisdom is coming through your mouth. And we record it, I record it on audio and video for the benefit of my clients because when you listen to that audio and when you watch that video over and over again, you're integrating that healing into your life in a deeper way.
SPEAKER_01That's so cool. I'm so great. I could talk to you for like three hours because I just it just fascinates me so much. Only three hours? Right? It's just really, I really think we can all grow and learn. So as we wrap up, you know, this this episode is going to be out in season three, and there's there's a change I'm making at the end of the podcast where I, you know, people will listen a lot of times to the episode and they might feel inspired or they might, you know, think about doing something. But I think it's important to include actionable steps to people so that they, when they listen to this, they can do something. So if you could talk to our listeners based on your experience, what is one action step that someone could take that would move their health or mindset or spiritual growth forward?
SPEAKER_00I would leave them with this. Sometimes healing isn't just about eliminating symptoms. Sometimes it's about changing our relationship with ourselves. And meditation, quantum hypnosis, these are tools that will help you to be able to figure out what are the blockages in your life so that you can live a more holistic and balanced life.
SPEAKER_01I love that. Okay, so but I do have a final question, two part that I'll ask you. But before I do, tell us how people can find you and your coaching services.
SPEAKER_00You can go to my website, qhhtwithali.com, and there you'll find my QHHT sessions, my BQH, which is beyond quantum healing, and that's essentially QHHT done remotely. So we can help people in any corner of the world, as long as you have internet access, phone or Zoom, we can help you. And then the third is uh we do coaching. I do coaching one-on-one. So you can book that through my website. And beyond that, I would say myspiritualteacher.ca. That's where you'll find many of my books and my spiritual music that can also help you on this journey.
SPEAKER_01That's awesome. Are you on social media as well?
SPEAKER_00I am. Uh way too many social media handles to mention, but most of them you will find on qhht.com and myspiritualteacher.ca.
SPEAKER_01Perfect. And I will put both of those links in the show notes so that our listeners can find you easily. So so now I'm gonna wrap up with the final question. The first question is if you, Ali, today can have a conversation with your past self. Now I would probably pick the one that had gotten in the accident and was in that dark place and just didn't know that there was a path forward, what advice would you give him?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Wow, it's so interesting that you asked this because I just started a podcast called Mentoring Myself, and it's exactly about this. And mentoring myself, I'm talking to myself. So if there was one thing I would say, I know I have many episodes out, but if there was one thing I would say to that younger self of mine, I would say, I love you. Hang in there. And yes, it's gonna be a bumpy ride, but on the other side is it's gonna be glorious. So enjoy the journey.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so now you today can have a conversation with your future self. And I would love for you just to envision being next to him, perhaps after a meditation in your favorite place. What would you ask him and what do you think he would say back to you?
SPEAKER_00I love you. Thank you for being with me, thank you for guiding me, thank you for believing in me, and thank you for helping me become all that I can be. That's what I would say to him, and he would say, You were always me. You just didn't realize it.
SPEAKER_01It's a beautiful thing to be able to talk to our past self to let us remind us that it'll be okay, and to talk to our future self to know that we're on the right path. It's a beautiful thing.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Absolutely. Thank you so much for that.
SPEAKER_01Thank you for joining me in this conversation. I hope to be in touch and I will share this with our with our listeners and very grateful for you and for all that you do and your journey.
SPEAKER_00Thank you for having me, Erica.
