As we wrap up Season 2 of the MY FIT TRIBE Podcast, I'm taking a moment to reflect on what the first 76 conversations have taught me—not just about health and wellness, but about purpose, possibility, and the power of staying open to life's unexpected opportunities.

In this episode, I share some of the lessons that have impacted me most, the story behind my first keynote speaking opportunity, why I almost didn't continue the podcast, and how one simple idea has become the foundation for both this show and my own journey: life leaves us breadcrumbs.

We don't always receive the entire roadmap. Sometimes we're simply given the next conversation, the next opportunity, or the next step.

As we look ahead to Season 3, I also share what's next for the podcast, how we're creating even more actionable conversations, and my hope that every episode continues to leave you inspired—not just to think differently, but to take the next step toward becoming the person your future self will thank you for.

Thank you for being part of the MY FIT TRIBE community. I hope you'll enjoy this look back on Season 2, enjoy your summer, and join us this fall for Season 3.

Throughout my own life and fitness journey, I have had the privilege of meeting incredible people who've shared valuable insights on mindset, health, fitness, and spiritual growth. The profound impact of this knowledge on my own life has inspired me to share it with all of you. I'm Erica Sweeney, host and founder of My Fit Tribe Podcast. Join me as we explore inspiring conversations with experts, thought leaders, and everyday heroes who offer their stories and practical tips to help you on your own journey. From nutrition and fitness to mental well-being and personal or spiritual growth, our mission is to empower you to take charge of your health and live your best life. We are more than just a podcast, we are a community. Through coaching, a wealth of shared knowledge, and a strong support network, we are here to guide and encourage you every step of the way. Come be a part of our tribe. In fact, I have to intentionally remind myself not to become attached to the outcome, because if one person hears something that changes the trajectory of their life, then that's enough for me. But every once in a while, it's important to pause and appreciate what those numbers actually represent. They're not just downloads, they're people. People who gave an hour of their day to listen, people searching for answers, people searching for hope, people searching for better health, and people searching for purpose. If you're one of those listeners, thank you. And if this happens to be your very first episode, welcome. I'm so glad you're here. So when I first started this podcast, I thought I was creating conversations about fitness and nutrition and wellness, but somewhere along the way I realized it was never really about that. This season we've talked about nutrition and women's health and meditation and faith and entrepreneurship, mental health, adaptive fitness, financial wellness, purpose, personal growth. And although every guest brought something completely different to the table, one thing kept surprising me. People don't often ask how I prepare for these conversations. The truth is I do prepare. I spend time researching every guest. I think about their story, I write questions, I look for connections, but then something funny almost always happens. About 20 minutes into the conversation, we forget we're even recording a podcast, and it becomes like two friends having a conversation over coffee. The microphones disappear, the cameras disappear, and what started as an interview simply becomes the conversation. Those are my favorite moments, not because the conversation becomes more polished, but because it becomes more genuine. That's when people share the stories, the experiences, and the lessons that have shaped who they are and how they want to impact others. I've walked away from so many recordings thinking I needed that conversation just as much as anyone listening, and it always seems to be divine timing with the topic. One of the conversations that stayed with me recently was my most recent conversation with the final guest of season two, Heather Corbett. We spent a lot of time talking about intuition, signs, staying open, and paying attention to where life might lead us. A day or two later, I came across a short Instagram reel about visualization and manifestation. Normally, I probably would have kept scrolling, but something made me stop. The video encouraged you to picture yourself already living the opportunity you hoped for. So I did. I thought about whether I should be speaking to others hoping to impact. I envisioned myself, how I would feel, how I would look, how I would present myself, and how others would see me. And I simply said, God, if this is a path I'm supposed to follow, send me a sign. Well, as things happen, less than 48 hours later, I received a message from an acquaintance. She had a keynote speaker who had backed out and was wondering if I would be willing to step in. The event was only 10 days away. Ten days. No speech, no presentation, nothing prepared. And if I'm being completely honest, I wasn't just scared. I was terrified. Every insecure thought came rushing in. Who am I to give a keynote? What if I let everyone down? And what if I'm not good enough? I seriously questioned whether I should say yes. It kind of brings me back to how I felt when we first started this podcast. But then I remembered something I've learned through the bodybuilding, the podcasting, and through listening to so many incredible people who share their stories, that growth rarely happens on the comfortable side of fear. So I said yes. Those next 10 days were some of the hardest I've worked in a very long time. I poured everything I had into the presentation, I rewrote it many, many, many times. I practiced it, I changed the slides, I practiced some more, and I thought about every transition through all the points I wanted to make and to help impact others. Every story, every lesson, not because I wanted to give a perfect presentation, but because I wanted people to feel something. I wanted them to leave believing that more was possible for their own lives than they believed when they walked into that room. It's exactly what I want for this podcast. And then something unexpected happened. I was preparing a keynote about possibility and I rediscovered my own. There was a point this season where I honestly wasn't sure there would be a season three. It's not that I was burned out, but I wasn't sure that I had the capacity. Like many of you, I wear a lot of hats. I'm a business owner, podcast host, now speaker, friend, mother, family, you name it. But sometimes there simply isn't enough energy to do everything well. Looking back now, I'm so grateful I didn't make a permanent decision during a season of uncertainty. Sometimes we think we're at the end of something when really we're standing at the beginning of the next chapter. As I reflect on these first 76 conversations, I realize something. Every episode ends the same way as I ask the guests two questions. First, what advice would you give your past self? Almost every single guest says some version of the same thing. Like it's gonna be okay, keep going, trust yourself. But then I ask, if you could ask your future self one question, what would you ask and what would they say back? I've thought a lot about those answers a lot this season, especially because I have people in my life who are facing some really incredibly difficult health challenges. It reminds me that tomorrow is never promised. We don't always get to choose what life brings us, but we do get to choose how we show up today. My hope for myself and for every one of you is that your future self never has to look back wishing you had done something differently. I hope they don't wish you'd started taking care of your health sooner. I hope they don't wish you'd spent more time with the people you love, and I hope they don't wish you'd ask one more question, taken one more chance, or believed in yourself just a little bit sooner. Because maybe that's what this podcast has really been about all along is helping us make decisions today that our future self will thank us for tomorrow. One thing I've come to believe is that life doesn't usually hand us the entire roadmap. Instead, it offers us breadcrumbs, something that we talk about in many, many episodes. It might be a conversation, a book, a podcast, a prayer, an unexpected opportunity. A person who says exactly what we needed to hear when we needed to hear it. Those breadcrumbs aren't meant to give us the entire roadmap. They're simply meant to give us enough courage to take the next step. And that's all the next step ever needs to be. So as we look ahead to season three, we're already recording some incredible conversations, and I'm so excited for what's ahead. One thing I realized after these first 76 conversations is that inspiration is wonderful. But inspiration can fade, but action creates momentum. So beginning in season three, every guest will answer an additional question before we wrap up, and that is what is one actionable step that our listeners can take today to begin moving forward? My hope is that every episode leaves you not only inspired, but with one practical next step, that one thing that you can maybe incorporate in your life to give you progress or hope. Another thing I'm excited about is building more of a community. I've spent the last two seasons asking incredible people questions, and in season three, I want to spend more time hearing from you. What would you love to hear on the show? What topics would you like for us to explore? And what conversations have impacted your life? I'm also hoping to launch a monthly newsletter in the future as another way for us to stay connected between episodes. So if that's something you'd be interested in, please let me know. And if you or your business would like to partner with or sponsor this podcast, I'd love to have that conversation too. You can email me at formyfitribe at gmail.com or send me messages on my social media or visit the website at myfittribe.org. So before I wrap up this season two wrap-up show, I'd like to thank my producer Jake Johnson. He has been with me through the very beginning, through my self-doubts, through my crazy episodes, through our common themes, and I'm so grateful for his support. To every guest who shared your story, thank you. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for being willing to impact people you'll probably never meet, that silent impact that we talk about. And to every listener, thank you. Whether you've listened to one conversation or all 76, thank you for giving me your time. Thank you for sharing episodes. Thank you for your encouragement. And thank you for believing in this journey. Over the next couple of months, although new episodes won't be released until this fall, we're already recording season three, so I'll be sharing clips from previous conversations, highlighting episodes you may have missed and staying connected on social media. And I hope you will stay connected with me too. So I'll leave you with this. Stay open, because you never know where your next breadcrumb might come from. It might come from that conversation or that podcast or that challenge or that opportunity you never expected. As I said, those breadcrumbs aren't meant to give us that entire roadmap. They just need to give us that courage. So I don't know exactly where this journey is leading, and honestly, I'm okay with that. I'm simply gonna stay open and I'm gonna keep following those breadcrumbs and trust that they'll continue leading me exactly where I need to go. And I hope you'll do the same. So thank you for being a part of the MyFit Tribe community. Enjoy your summer, stay open, and keep following those breadcrumbs. Thanks for listening to the My Fit Tribe podcast.
